Cops is filming in Austin for a few weeks. I'm interested in seeing what they catch, as Austin is truly a laid back town and, in comparison to other cities, not much really happens. I'd like to see what the "dark side" of Austin is...
I'm sure there will be a few incidents on 6th Street, with drunk/rolling on ecstasy college kids, but what else will we see? Hmm...I can't wait until the episodes air.
I'm glad I picked one of the more peaceful cities to escape Lusk, Wyoming. One thing I have always loved about Wyoming is that crime is low...a few burglaries, malicious mischief, DWI's...nothing too evil. Murders are a rare occurance...from 1960 - 2001 the highest murder rate for the state occurred in 1982, with 46, the lowest number being 10 in the years '65, '87, and '95. The total usually under 20 per year. It's comforting to live in a "safe" place. I sometimes miss that zone of comfort in knowing that nothing too terrible will happen to me if I'm out late at night alone...then again, I don't miss the boredom arising from lack of civilization.
