My understanding of the purpose of constitutions is to outline freedoms. I was apparently mistaken, as they are now being used for prohibitions.
Yesterday 76% of Texan voters approved a ban on gay marriage, civil unions and various other manners of commitment between homosexuals. This is 76% of an average 26% voter turnout by district (pathetic for a nation full of "Americans" ).

I'm pretty disgusted by this misusage of the constitution.

Of course the reason behind this type of vote is "God hates gays". Where this idea comes from I don't know, as my understanding was that God didn't hate anyone. My understanding further sees that God doesn't like it when people act like Him, which is what they are doing by casting down this type of judgment.

I think God will judge everyone rightly and picture many men and women at the "Pearly Gates" listening to a recital of their sins and this issue listed...but I do not presume to know what God thinks, simply opinions from my understanding and faith in the Omniscient.

I'm proud to know more Austinites (Travis County) voted against this measure in comparison to other counties. At least there is some sanity in this state full of arrogant hypocrites.
