"I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing." ~Socrates
Official Census
It is official. In the state of Texas, I am now (being white) a minority.
Funny thing, being designated white though most of my blood is Native American.
Though you can see it in my cheeks, in my nose, in my general facial structure
and dark, straight hair...I've never been designated to that minority (due to
the fact my mother was adopted). I've been forced to live as white. On every
application for school or for work, I've had to check the "white"
box.
So...when I was a minority I lived as the majority, now the majority is the
minority and I'm still not able to live my ancestral truth.
Life is irony...Irony is unpleasant.
