This Guy Has More Guts Than Most Americans (Entitled To Free Speech)
Guilty or not guilty, I admit, I like this guy . He stood up to Big Brother in a way we American's are afraid to do. He's got spunk and big cahones. Imagine a guy standing up and saying, "How dare you, who are guilty as well, point your finger at me?". Watching him rage was entertaining, and it gave me a laugh watching the committee squirm and the reporters' mouths drop.
Some good excerpts:
"Now, I know that standards have slipped over the last few years in
Washington, but for a lawyer, you're remarkably cavalier with any idea
of justice," George Galloway told Sen. Norm Coleman, (chairman of the Homeland Security
and Governmental Affairs investigation subcommittee).
"Senator, this is the mother of all smoke screens".
"You have nothing on me, senator, except my name on lists of names from
Iraq, many of which have been drawn up after the installation of your
puppet government in Baghdad".
"What counts is not the names on the paper. What counts is where's the
money, senator? Who paid me money, senator? Who paid me hundreds of
thousands of dollars? The answer to that is nobody and if you had
anybody who paid me a penny you would have produced them here today."
Brilliant! Whether he's guilty or not, he's sure making you look a little deeper into the mirror, I'd hope, to see we have not earned a right to pass judgement.
I can't find the direct quote, but he also mentioned he has met Saddam an equal number of times as Donald Rumsfeld and DR was the one to sell them guns and yet that is "ok". A very good point to make.
